ONYX lamps are commonly used in operating and procedure rooms, intensive care units, neonatal units, induction rooms, dental, dermatology, and gynecology clinics, veterinary clinics, and dissection rooms.

They are available with various light intensity levels. Treatment lamps can have 30,000 or 60,000 lx. Lamps with 100,000, 110,000, and 120,000 lx, with optional field size adjustment, can be used as minor surgical lights.
